Hello Bowlers,

Just for something different, tomorrow at noon, there is an Interstate Showdown happening at Avalon Bowlo!

How?
What?
Whom?

Well, it turns out, our good mate, Paul Williams, is on a short visit back to Avalon from sunny, but cold Tasmania, Cygnet, to be exact.

And naturally, his mate, Greg Donlan, has challenged him to a match. It turns out Paul won the South East Tasmanian Pennants MVP, an awesome achievement, considering pennants is played over something like 16 rounds down there.

So Greg, missing the early mens pennants rounds, and constantly reminding us all of his recent Major Singles Final victory, saw an opportunity for interstate bragging rights.

With number 3 green rolling beautifully, Greg coming off a 3 week vacation, and therefore short of a gallop, the match is Paul’s to loose. Hopefully, he brought his own bowls with him.

Anyway, for a bit of fun – be there around noon tomorrow. A great atmosphere is guaranteed.
And there is no truth in the rumour that Nikki is barracking for Paul – her ex soccer coach, and a good one apparently. Or that Nigel Berridge, good mate to both gents, has been co-opted to referee (not umpire) the contest.
